Honestly, over the last few years, I’ve developed a real allergy to these lazy, bottom-of-the-barrel translations...
I remember picking up much more English just by watching movies back in the day—they actually had decent subtitles then, unlike now. Today’s generation struggles to learn English because they're stuck with these terrible translations...
Was it really that difficult to translate "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves" correctly?
Why can't they just stick to the actual title?
If I were the boss, I’d fire the translator on the spot... either they’re trying too hard to be "clever" or they’re just plain incompetent... either way, I wouldn't hire them again for anything.
p.s. — and don't even get me started on the garbage translations you see on FOX or NBC (like in the series "The Mentalist")...🤦, though even PBS has slipped up a few times... it’s honestly jarring when you hear what the characters are saying in the original audio, only to read some mindless, inaccurate subtitle underneath.
