I caught a movie the other day, and honestly... it was just a complete disaster. Don't bother. It really isn't worth your time.

The plot is non-existent, the jokes fall flat, the acting is just mediocre at best, and some of the scenes feel like they were thrown in there completely at random...

Look, at the end of the day, it’s all just a matter of taste, right? What one person thinks is absolute garbage, someone else might find totally entertaining, and honestly, that's just how it goes.

I’ll be the first to admit that I wasn't really into B-movies or those cheap mockbusters back in the day, but lately, I've been finding some surprisingly fun titles that are actually worth sitting down for.
Some people wouldn't touch a mockbuster with a ten-foot pole, no matter what, you know? And I know plenty of folks wonder why a guy like Cepo spends almost all his time watching low-budget horror flicks, but hey, I say it's all about what you enjoy!

Was this supposed to be a parody of B-list horror movies? Or just a low-budget attempt at mocking horror in general? Look, I can appreciate a bad sitcom like *Scrubs*, but this was honestly unwatchable. If I were back home in the States, I’d probably be looking into a small claims suit against the filmmakers just to get my time back. It’s just a messy pile of everything—mostly just endless, nonsensical references to modern American nonsense—and don't even get me started on the "humor."

I don't know about you guys, but I didn't see it as messy at all; honestly, everything felt pretty well laid out from start to finish.

How can you even say it's just thrown together when the whole thing is built directly on the foundation of >? It's parodying that specific movie by setting the whole plot in a house crawling with ghosts, and then they weave in those other movie nods using their main characters!
If it were actually "thrown together," the plot would be jumping all over the place from one second to the next without any rhyme or reason, right?

And look, since we aren't dealing with massive superstars like > or > or someone else of that caliber, I actually think the humor is spot on.

Exactly. If there is anyone left even remotely capable of salvaging a parody, it would be David Zucker. But even he seems to be running on fumes lately. With Scary Movie 5 coming out soon, the trailer suggests it isn't any better than what we just saw; in fact, it looks identical to this.

This is awful. Wait—was it Nielsen in the fourth one? My only theory is that they just never really "got" his sense of humor, so now they have no clue how to replicate it.😁

If I’m being completely honest, I still find Scary Movie 4—the one with Leslie—to be the absolute peak of that entire franchise. All that repetitive nonsense about racial stereotypes just doesn't land for me, though I suppose that might just be because I'm not part of that specific subculture, don't listen to rap, and happen to be older than fifteen. Shouldn't a filmmaker return to parodying everyday life situations rather than just making cheap shots at blockbuster hits released since the last Scary Movie? I’m not really a fan of that modern brand of Black humor either, to be fair. The stuff from the *Fresh Prince of Bel Air* era was actually pretty funny. You could even see traces of it back in *Don't Be Sad*... plus, that guy from *The Intern* uses a similar style, which makes it work for me. But this new "yo-mama" type of humor? Yeah, it's exactly at that bottom-of-the-barrel level you were talking about.
