Business Windows licenses

Hey there.

My office currently runs four laptops, and three of them have legitimate Windows licenses.

We just picked up a fourth one without an OS, and since we have a new hire starting soon who’ll be using it, I wanted to get some advice. Since this is for business, can I just grab one of those keys from eBay for a few bucks and call it licensed? What happens if an auditor shows up—is that even something they can catch? I have zero interest in running illegal software like KMSPico at work, so if those cheap keys are actually legal, I'd much rather spend a few dollars than drop $100 or more on a retail license.

That stuff you find on eBay is really more for home users than for actual businesses... I’d honestly suggest grabbing a retail key instead. Sure, they cost an arm and a leg—it feels like you're paying for pure gold—but at least you get the sticker and a proper receipt to show if an auditor ever actually shows up. Isn't it better to pay upfront than to deal with a massive fine from the IRS later?
