Reddit signature settings

Reddit users, if you have your signature turned on, please just turn it off. Usually, people just can't find the setting. Here’s how

Go to your profile menu, then hit Settings > signature. Toggle the signature option off.

It's also listed in the instructions now.

It’s not about whether I can turn it off, it's more about why things need to be toggled back on every single time I log out.

I don't really get why people have an issue with the Reddit signature. 🤔

What do you mean, logging out of Tapatalk? What’s even the point? Unless you're sharing a single device with your entire extended family, I don't see why anyone would bother.

Maybe I’m just getting old and missing something here, but does Tapatalk keep you logged in constantly?
Like, if I’m sitting on the beach right now and decide to type this out, I stay logged in—active and ready—and suddenly I’ve got ten different notifications popping up from all sorts of random people on the forums.
This might sound hilarious to some of you, but honestly, my little ritual is to just delete the app entirely and then reinstall it all over again. 🤦

And then I go through the whole struggle of manually adding "-Tapatalk" to the end of every single post I make.

But seriously, those signatures that show off the specific phone model? They drive me crazy. Tapatalk would be perfectly fine by me, because I actually love knowing when someone is posting on the fly from their phone.

I honestly can’t say for sure; perhaps Tapatalk behaves differently on iOS than it does on Android.
I went through the trouble of logging out and signing back in, yet the signature remains disabled.

Regarding the idea of deleting the app, I truthfully have no way of knowing if my online status is visible while I'm using it, given that I’ve already disabled my visibility within the forum settings.
Besides, I don't deal with any obsessive fans—male or female—so I see absolutely no reason to go through the hassle of deleting anything. 🙂

I just logged out and back in. The signature stayed disabled.

As for deleting the app, honestly, I can't tell if I'm showing up online when I use it. My online status is turned off in the forum settings anyway.
But I don't have obsessive fans chasing me down, so I don't see any need to bother with deleting anything. 🙂

It depends on the version, but generally, after years of using it, the only reason I still have a Tapatalk signature is so I can go back and find myself. Just recently, a user on iOS made the same comment. 🤷

Just turn off that signature when you log in. Don't overthink it. I just disable mine every single time and call it a day.

Let’s be honest: what you all are using isn't even a signature, it's just blatant advertising for Tapatalk. You can easily set up a custom signature within the app itself; the only catch is that it attaches directly to your post rather than being separated as a distinct forum signature, which ends up cluttering the readability of the actual content.

Then there is the second issue, which occurs when someone uses both a forum signature and a Tapatalk signature simultaneously. It becomes an absolute mess to read.

Thirdly, laziness is hardly a valid excuse here.

Fourthly: what on earth does logging out of Tapatalk have to do with which specific forums are linked to your account? Personally, I am connected to 14 different sites, including the HAER forums.
I realize we don't all share the same habits or requirements, but I have never once felt the need to log out of Tapatalk for any reason whatsoever. I honestly cannot think of a single logical motivation to do so. I'm not joking—I am genuinely curious.

I guess I didn't explain myself very well—what I mean is, when I want (and let's be honest, sometimes it's a necessary evil) to just browse the forums via Tapatalk without anyone being able to track my activity, the app just logs me out by default. It didn't used to work this way.
