Best drawing tablets?

I could really use some advice on graphic tablets.
My 14-year-old daughter is incredibly talented at drawing, and I’m looking to get her a tablet to help her level up. Does anyone have any solid recommendations around the $1167 range? I don't want to buy her something cheap that's going to break or lag, but we definitely don't need top-tier professional gear just yet—she'll have plenty of time for the high-end stuff later on.

The iPad is a bit pricey, but it’s a solid device. It runs macOS and basically acts like a real laptop—you just have to pick up a keyboard separately.

The Apple Pencil it uses is excellent.

Thanks for the heads-up, but she already has a full laptop setup, so... anyway, could you actually use something like this alongside an existing laptop?
I heard a Huion Kamvas might be perfect for what she needs. What are your thoughts on that?

Or if you're thinking about ordering from overseas, maybe check out Walmart or something similar—you might find a better selection there

I work as a designer over in Germany, and I can tell you firsthand that the pros almost always pair an Apple tablet with a MacBook Pro 15" (though it's a 16" now). For my daughter, I think a decent Apple tablet paired with her current laptop should be more than enough.
