Biased modes in the "Economy" PDF

Just look at how the "real estate prices" thread is being handled over on the "Economy" PDF. The mods have basically gone full biased mode to protect one specific side of the debate.

And honestly? It’s not even because that side has better points. It feels like they're doing it for some other reason that only the mods understand.

It ended up getting to the point where the people actually making sense got slapped with bans and warnings, while the other side—the ones just trolling without any actual substance—got off totally scot-free.

Basically, it's a textbook example of biased and unfair moderation. They've pretty much chased away anyone who doesn't suck up to their favorites.

The posts haven't vanished—everything is still right where it belongs, and you can clearly see how this whole discussion has played out over the last few weeks. For instance, you only picked up a single warning—and that was just for questioning the mods.

silentridge3 simply doesn't know how to make a point without getting all worked up and snapping at people—which is exactly why they racked up two or three warnings and ended up with a brief one-day ban.

As far as I'm concerned—yeah, it's true, I was commenting on, well, criticizing the moderation. I just couldn't sit there anymore watching you guys play favorites and unfairly punish the other side (like banning silentridge3).

And yeah, maybe silentridge3 lost his cool a little at the end, but honestly, that’s not even surprising considering how you guys shamelessly tolerated velvetmaker3 and Frank Knight trolling until they were blue in the face.

Anyway, silentridge3 is gone from the thread now, which is obvious to everyone and clearly what you were aiming for.

But hey, if that's not how it works and you're just solo-modding this specific PDF—aka this thread—then feel free to rename it "The Biased biased mode in the CNN PDF."

Our posts (not just the ones from silentridge3 and me, but plenty of other users on this thread who mostly agreed with us) actually made sense. Or, I guess, they at least had more logic in them than the crap posted by velvetmaker3, Frank Knight, Comcast, and those types.

But fine, why bother arguing with a "moderator" who completely missed the fact that those three were trolling—which was obvious from a mile away?

The real issue here, if you ask me, is how inconsistent the moderation actually is.

If it really matters to you, I could probably dig up ten instances where those same people were dogpiling on me for every single time they claim I’ve "snapped" at them.

Take the "real estate prices" thread over in the Economy section—it’s basically been hijacked by a small group of obvious lobbyists who act like they're working for big real estate developers, just constantly pushing the interests of investors and sellers every single day. Their whole goal seems to be using this supposedly independent forum, this supposed space for "average Americans" to debate, to convince everyone that real estate prices are perfectly fine and, heaven forbid, actually going to climb even higher. It feels like they're just trying to bait people into buying property at these ridiculous prices. And honestly, besides the fact that their entire strategy is basically just pure trolling, they frequently go out of their way to insult anyone who disagrees with them.

I’m genuinely curious if you’ve noticed that blatant disrespect, or if you’ve actually stepped in to penalize it... has any of them actually faced a warning or a ban?

As for velvetmaker3, I think he earned a ban a long time ago... did you at least give him a yellow card?

On top of that, their entire way of operating boils down to pure trolling, and they aren't above straight-up insulting anyone who disagrees with them.

You kept accusing us of saying things we never even said. We warned you a hundred times that those weren't our words and asked you to prove it by actually quoting us, but you couldn't. Not only did you fail to quote anything (because it didn't exist), but you just stubbornly and rudely kept insisting we made those claims without a shred of evidence.

If that isn't shameless trolling, then I don't know what is.

If the mods on that PDF were actually worth anything, you'd be banned for at least a month for trolling like this.
