So, my rig is relatively recent—built around early 2020 using some older components I had lying around. Lately, I’ve been running into this annoying issue where, during bootup, it throws a BIOS setup error. Even when I tell it to just revert to the last known working settings, it keeps looping back to the same problem. After tinkering with it for quite a while, I’ve come to the conclusion that it isn't an issue with my CPU overclocking; rather, it seems to be the Intel profile causing all the headaches. It only acts up when that mode is enabled; if I just leave it off, everything runs perfectly fine without any drama.

To make matters worse, the timing is completely unpredictable. It doesn't happen every single time, which makes it even more frustrating. Sometimes I can go a couple of weeks without seeing a single error, and then suddenly, it might happen several days in a row. Does anyone know how to actually fix this? Right now, my only workaround is to disable the Intel profile, reboot, turn the profile back on, and reboot again. Then everything works beautifully... until the next error pops up. I can't wrap my head around why this would happen one day and then disappear for a month.🤔

Why do you even need XMP enabled? Are you actually seeing any real benefits from it? Either way—if you haven't already—I’d suggest updating to the latest BIOS and then running a MemTest just to see if one of your RAM sticks is acting up. I'd probably just let it run its scan overnight to be safe...

Regardless, if you haven't already, I’d suggest updating to the latest BIOS version and then running MemTest just to see if any of those sticks are actually faulty. I'd probably just let it run an overnight scan and hope for the best..

The system ran for seven hours straight and passed all four passes at 100%. Not a single error to report... It’s honestly such bizarre behavior from the RAM, and I should probably mention that this whole mess started once I added another pair. I was sitting on 16GB before, but I figured I'd toss in another 16GB just to see what happens, thinking maybe it wouldn't be such a disaster.
I could have practically picked up these modules for about $33, rather than paying $333 per stick. Since it seems to be running at roughly 2000MHz even without the Intel profiles enabled.

Look, that motherboard officially doesn't support that RAM.
I mean, obviously that usually doesn't mean it won't actually work—it's not like it'll explode or anything—but honestly? A lot of the time, it just straight-up fails.

I suppose that usually doesn't mean it won't work, but honestly, quite often it actually does.

Alright, I get where you're coming from on that point, but the CPU, motherboard, and processor were all bundled together right from the jump, and I've never had a single issue with XMP before. It only started acting up once I picked up a couple more sticks of the exact same RAM. That’s the part I just can't wrap my head around. When I'm running just two slots, everything works perfectly, but the moment I fill all four, it fails. It feels like I'm just stuck in a dead end here, doesn't it?
