Alright, I get it. The movie's basically built for kids who spend all day on Fortnite, PUBG, or GTA—whatever. But honestly? It’d be way more engaging if they’d just used a crew of actual kid gamers—you know, maybe 10 to 14-year-olds—who actually had distinct personalities reflected through their avatars. Instead, we just get these three or four gamers who are already in their twenties. I guess it would've been better if they went for a vibe like The Goonies or Home Alone—something more of an action-adventure thing for kids.
The humor felt pretty weak for adults, too—not really hitting—and kids can't exactly relate to characters who are 25+. I mean, sure, some kids will probably love it because, let's face it, they'll swallow anything you put on the screen if it looks like a video game. But even then... it’s probably not gonna be their absolute favorite.
