Hi everyone.
I could really use some guidance here—I’m honestly not sure where to start.
I'm looking to pick up a new desktop computer. For my needs, it would mostly be used for work—lots of Word and Excel—plus a bit of streaming shows and general web browsing. I definitely want an SSD, though I don't need a massive amount of storage since I already rely on an external drive. I already have a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, so I won't need those.
So, it doesn't need to be anything high-end or specialized, but I also don't want to buy something so cheap that it becomes a headache within a year.
Roughly how much money should I set aside for this? Ideally, I'd like to keep the costs as low as possible.
Also, would it be smarter to just buy a pre-built system, or should I look into buying individual components—assuming I can find someone to put it together for me?
Does anyone have any specific recommendations?
