Misfits, Jesus Lizard (those old 😍 idiots)... looks like I'm stuck with nothing but gloomy melodies today. 🙂

We still don't have any saffron around here. For example, just look at this brief exchange ...

Anyway, this thread is great. I'm actually enjoying it. Getting to know people through music—it's easy and it works. Yeah...

n.b.: anarchist

Chaotic😁—me too. 😁

Give me a break.

Inspired by movies and history? 😁

A pioneer! I thought this was brilliant when I saw it—😁(hard to even imagine what people were feeling back then)

We still don't have any saffron here in the States. For instance, just a quick exchange ...

In America, we still don't have any saffron. For instance, a brief little exchange ...

They're everywhere you look on that hillside, and I even managed to spot a single lamb... these are just isolated instances...

One of the most exquisite "waltzes" ever composed.

Don't interrupt me while I'm working —it’s a bee, but... (I haven't verified yet)

And finally, a chaotic jumble of tunes.

🙂 since they didn't rely on melody, but rather rhythm; with Stratosfear, I only truly found my footing during those final three minutes at the start...

though I suspect they had it easier than this

John Cage's 4'33"

the bodhisattva trio hit the morning, and even Drew Lewis2 and his buddy are heading out to the NP 🙂

don't interrupt me while I'm working - total busy bee vibe... (didn't check though)

nice, sounds like you're living on our sunny hills - already got lambs and maybe some saffron there (not in my mini Siberia yet).

Tchaikovsky is medicine 🙂

and finally, a whirlwind of twists and turns

haha, this is totally my vibe! grew up listening to Einstürzende Neubauten, no doubt about it. 😬

🤣 is quite... well, one could certainly manage without the honey.

wiredmason61 said:haha, I absolutely love this! I grew up listening to Einstürzende Neubauten, so I’m no stranger to the darker side of things. 😬

But Krautrock, jazz, and futurism ...

Aha, so you have childhood traumas too, 😁

I find funk and New Age equally appealing. It is the melody that carries the weight... regardless of the rhythm.
Andrew does everything with acoustic instruments, avoiding synthesizers and sequencers entirely.

I don't know why—but for me, their MTV Unplugged remains the absolute worst. Everything else they've done just sounds better.

Cool—and even more live. 😁 (Based on the footage)

Haha, exactly. Law of the land. 😁

Jerry Robinson56 said:🙂 Until they actually figured out how to build a melody through rhythm—on Stratosfear, I only genuinely enjoyed those last three minutes at the very beginning.

Rhythm beats melody—every single time. 😳

I don't even know where to start with this one... just total nonsense. kaže:
...
I'm just as big on funk as I am on new age. At the end of the day, it's the melody that carries the whole thing... regardless of the rhythm.

Haha, I'm stealing Drew Lewis2's take: rhythm > melody... 😁

The saffron finally hit my forest too... 🙂

Sweet, sounds good! Let me know when the next one hits so I can give the folks over in Columbus a heads-up. It's not like they're driving halfway across the country to get there...
