Jason Mendoza said:I still remember this one time—I was just riding some bus, heading somewhere—it was daytime, and I was glued to the window with my headphones blasted, listening to Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
I was just staring out at the scenery, and man, the clouds looked so surreal... it felt like everything was part of some massive psychedelic trip (not that I was actually tripping, mind you, just the vibe of the music). Ever since then, I can't do the whole "staring out a window while listening to GY!OB" thing anymore. 😁

Why not just have a little trip without the actual drugs? 😁
Actually, it happened again once—I was cooking lunch and the sky turned pitch black, and I had this track playing. Right during the bridge, it started absolutely pouring rain outside. It was like the song itself summoned the storm or something.

This one from Third World is probably my favorite Haustov's track ever—just such a gem, totally drenched in that spacey, atmospheric vibe. I’ve actually had it on loop three times in a row today, which—honestly—is pretty rare for me.
I feel her right behind me
A massive ship looms ahead
And children who live forever
And the sinking sun
Then her hand brushes my shoulder
The harbor noise fades away
I see the flame in her eye
And everything goes quiet
Like when a machine grinds to a halt
I feel her right behind me
A massive ship looms ahead
And children who live forever
And the sinking sun
Then her hand brushes my shoulder
The harbor noise fades away
I see the flame in her eye
And everything goes quiet
Like when a machine grinds to a halt

I remember this one afternoon back home while I was making dinner; the sky turned pitch black out of nowhere and this track started playing. Right during the bridge, the heavens just opened up and it started pouring rain, almost like the music itself summoned the storm.
There are definitely those rare moments where the music perfectly hits with the atmosphere around you and just burns itself into your memory.

I just can't get anything done working from home; I can't seem to force myself to be productive when there's way too much going on around me.

The waterfront was absolutely packed after we clinched the championship this summer, and then there’s this song playing in the background. Next year, we're going for the title again.
