Honestly 😁 My issue is just that for every 15 minutes of chatter that doesn't even involve me, there's about 10 minutes where I actually have to jump in—so I’m constantly on edge, basically listening with one ear cocked 😢

One of those legendary, though somewhat overlooked, icons from the golden age of rock, Arthur Brown, dropped an album back in 2019 that felt surprisingly modern and relevant—voodoo.

Jason Mendoza said:It seems like quite a few people here only make the trip abroad for Christmas or Easter; I suppose that isn't really the custom over there.

I am honestly counting down the days until this quarantine is finally over so I can have a proper drink, even if I’ll inevitably spend the next morning regretting my life choices.

Goodbye Mary

🤣 Don't worry too much, it'll all be over soon enough and you can get back to your usual complaining.

To be perfectly honest, that Easter Monday was an absolute disaster. Neither the bars nor the clubs were open, which was a total mess.
Well, one club was actually open, though there was a massive line just to get inside; I remember the bouncer was some guy who let us in without any trouble since we were Americans, though a friend mentioned that in London, most club security are basically from the North America. There was a band playing and it was actually fantastic, but around 11 or midnight, if I recall correctly, it was all over.
We ended up stumbling into this half-confectionery, half-pub hybrid with flickering lights and only three employees inside—the only place open, and only because I was being incredibly pushy about it.
The next day we headed back to Northampton and things were a hundred times better! 🙂 😁

Like some wise guy once said, the absolute worst way to torture a person is to completely wreck their routine.

So this is how everything finally falls apart.

"When everything finally reaches its end, there’s going to be this singular moment where only one person is left standing. And once that second ticks by, it's over. The man will be goniti. We won't leave behind a single footprint or a scrap of evidence that we ever existed... nothing but a handful of stardust."

I honestly don't know why I even bother engaging in these discussions when it feels like we're all just shouting into a void, but here we are again, witnessing yet another instance of complete and utter incompetence that seems to be the standard for modern society. It’s frankly exhausting to watch people stumble through life with such a blatant lack of foresight, and quite frankly, I find myself increasingly disillusioned by the sheer mediocrity being celebrated as progress.

The one and only The Kinks at their absolute peak—honestly, this stuff from the 1971 masterpiece Muswell Hillbillies is criminally underrated whenever people talk about the best country-folk or Americana records ever made.

I suppose I should have expected this level of mediocrity to resurface, though it doesn't make the experience any less grating when one actually attempts to engage with substance. It’s honestly quite exhausting dealing with such a lack of depth. I suppose I should have expected this level of emptiness from such a brief interaction. It’s almost impressive how little there is to work with here.

I'm not really the type to dwell on pure gloom without some positivity—or at least a bit of irony (looking at you, Leonard Cohen)—but these guys are basically the kings of absolute darkness.

My personal favorite—one of the most beautiful tributes to that fleeting, messy mix of love and obsession that I get way too well—is Dalai Lama:

Another tribute to hope (even if it feels pointless)—lepota:

This might just be the peak for introverted troubadour Mark "E" Everett—his 2005 double studio album Blinking Lights and Other Revelations is easily one of the best in its class... honestly, it's packed with these incredible, subtle, melodic folk-rock tracks from start to finish (33 of them!)

Everything on here hits, but if I had to pick favorites for today, I'd go with

Blinking Lights (For Me)

Trouble With Dreams

Railroad Man

Whatever Happened To Soy Bomb
