So, I did a little digging with some contacts I have over at Chase, and the consensus seems to be that it’s actually a smart move to swap those dollars for euros right now.
They also mentioned that the FDIC guarantees your savings up to $110,000 per account, but anything beyond that is essentially on your own.
That's the gist of it.
I suppose there's no harm in doing a bit of due diligence once in a while. 😉

Anyway, let's just get back to the nonsense.

Olive: I’d like to dedicate this to my grandpa (from Alaska) 🙄
who taught me everything I know about these moves.
Pageant MC: Aww, that’s so sweet. Is he here with us? Where is he?
Olive: He's in the trunk of our car.

@Jamie Davis9/">@@Jamie Davis9: Your water heater will get fixed, don't sweat it. I spent nearly four years heating water on a camping stove just to have something warm to wash with, and yet here I am—still standing and relatively healthy. 😬

By the way, ever since I started being the resident minority on this forum, random usernames have stopped sliding into my DMs. Every cloud has a silver lining, I suppose. 😁

I intend to...

There you go.
Anyway, never hurts to ask...

Wait, isn't it $250,000?

But hey, this track really got me in the mood:

I hope...

I don't think so.

In any case, double-check.
And if you thought you checked already, check one more time.
A contact of mine—someone with significant seniority at a major US bank who has absolutely zero reason to mislead me—told me the same thing earlier today.

While there might be slight variations depending on which big bank you're dealing with, I find it highly unlikely the discrepancies would be that massive.

Just verify it and let me know.

I can't even remember who actually taught me these moves—it was such a random moment!
Pageant MC: Oh, that’s just precious. Is he around right now? And where's your grandpa hanging out these days?
Olive—she’s currently chilling in the trunk of our car!

I just caught this video—really interesting stuff! It actually reminds me a bit of that documentary I watched last week about urban planning in Chicago—just some food for thought while you're sipping your morning coffee.

Such a sweet movie—honestly, it just totally melted my heart! 😍

Chloe Wilson46 I'm sorry, I didn't catch that—it looks like you might have missed part of your message! Feel free to drop it again whenever you're ready.
By the way—ever since I switched my profile to the dark mode theme—I haven't been getting any random DMs from total strangers. Honestly? It’s got its perks! 😁

Auč Yves 🤣🕺

A contact of mine at JP Morgan told me the same thing earlier today—someone high up who definitely has no reason to lie to me.

Maybe there are slight variations depending on which bank you're using, but I doubt it's that massive a gap.

Check it out and let me know.

It's not like I'm sitting on a fortune, but I'm pretty sure I read that the FDIC covers up to $250,000 if a bank goes under.

absolutely wonderful!! and it has so much soul

Henry Campbell5 said:It isn't that I actually have savings, but I recall reading somewhere that the FDIC covers up to $250,000 if a bank goes under.

I was thinking about the specific bank, and honestly, I have no idea how the federal government handles things because my connections don't reach that high up the ladder. 😁

By the way, the funniest part is that even though I don't exactly have anything more than pocket change, I still try my best to stay informed, mostly because I refuse to let anyone take advantage of me. 🙂 🤣

The structural engineers gave me the green light, so of course, everything is good to go! 😁
That same engineer actually had the nerve to tell me my building could easily handle another earthquake of the exact same magnitude without breaking a sweat. Heh. So, bring it on, you little tremor—I'm waiting! 🙂 😁

Talking about earthquakes, back on this day in 1667, there was one massive hit that leveled everything.

Honestly, Soho is right in the heart of London, which makes it feel almost as quintessential as any other major American hub. :_))
A few years back, I headed over there for a quick trip to visit a friend living just outside the city, and we ended up staying with some acquaintances in Soho—we even shelled out a ridiculous amount for the rental.
And this was right during the Easter holiday weekend, too.
We really dressed up for the occasion, thinking if we were heading into Soho, we were going to go all out and have a blast.
But predictably, absolutely nothing was open; not a single thing. 🙄 It was such an incredibly frustrating disappointment. 🙄

Back home in the States, nearly everything was wide open at that exact same time. 😁

Look, plenty of people around here only head back home for Christmas or Easter; apparently, making a big deal out of it isn't really the custom over there.

I’m honestly just counting down the days until this quarantine is finally over so I can get properly hammered, even though I know I'll be nursing a massive hangover and cursing my life choices the next morning.

Goodbye Mary

I usually just mess around with my Wi-Fi settings when the connection starts lagging, then I finally kill the video feed so I don't have to sit there staring at a screen while listening to people drone on about absolutely nothing.
