Best home printer recommendations?

Greetings. I’m seeing some recommendations floating around, but I need a second opinion. I’m looking for a printer for home use—mostly just printing worksheets and coloring pages for the kids—but I absolutely cannot deal with an inkjet that dries up after two weeks of inactivity. This one seems like a decent enough option given how cheap the toner is, unless you know of something better within a budget of a few hundred dollars...

If you don't need color, it'll work fine. Just compare the cost of third-party toner against other models and check the user reviews on Amazon.

I don't want to start a whole new thread here, but I'm on the lookout for a basic printer. Nothing fancy at all—just something to handle Excel spreadsheets and the occasional random document. My biggest priority is finding something where the replacement toner isn't going to break the bank. Basically, the lower the running costs, the better! Does anyone have any good recommendations? Why on earth are some HP printers priced so ridiculously low? You see them sitting there for anywhere from $200 to $133. What's the catch here? Are we looking at outdated tech, overpriced ink cartridges, or just garbage print quality? ☕

They basically bait you with these dirt-cheap printers just so they can bleed you dry on the ink refills. Look, the print quality isn't terrible, and it gets the job done, but man, it’s slow as hell. Plus, those ink cartridges? They’ll cost you a small fortune every single time you run out. Honestly, save yourself the headache and just drop the extra cash on a decent machine upfront. It'll pay for itself in the long run.
