Hey everyone, I'm looking to pick up a laptop for my brother. He’s deep into coding and plays some mid-range games every now and then.
I'd just ask him directly, but then it wouldn't be much of a surprise, you know? I've been browsing online, but I always seem to run into a wall where one specific component is too weak or outdated. Honestly, I don't know the first thing about all this hardware stuff.
I'm asking for any suggestions or advice on something that'll actually be smooth enough for his work and won't choke when he fires up a game.
I was thinking maybe something from Microsoft, and I'm willing to drop $10,000 if I have to, though I really think I should find something cheaper. Let's face it, $10k is way too much cash to blow...
Thanks, cheers.

I agree $3100 but when you look at the quality versus the price, it really needs to be a 17-inch screen for what I need

Here’s a more powerful option than the 15.6" model.

Can we find something a bit more budget-friendly that doesn't suck for gaming? The game is League of Legends. Basically, I need a laptop that can handle work during the day and won't crash when he's playing at night.
I'm looking for a direct link and some reasoning behind the choice.
Thanks
Thanks in advance

League of Legends isn't exactly a heavy hitter when it comes to system requirements, but stuff like this could easily
tank his performance.
It’s actually a solid choice for "work" if he doesn't need massive amounts of storage (unfortunately, finding laptops with both an SSD and an HDD in this price range is rare—SSDs offer speed but lower capacity, whereas HDDs give you more space at the cost of speed). He might want to consider this instead
