The Guilty

Just finished this killer thriller—honestly, I’d give it way more than its current 7.6 on IMDb.

It follows this former cop—let's call him Jack—who's working dispatch now.
He takes a call from a woman who's pretending to talk to her daughter while she's actually trapped in a kidnapper's car, and things go south fast—it becomes this intense race against the clock. Jack's doing everything he can to track the car and piece the whole thing together, which is basically impossible over the phone. And, of course—because every good movie does this—we get some glimpses into his own past too...

Killer story and top-tier acting. If you love this genre, definitely check it out.

Yeah, it's actually a pretty solid concept—Cedergren really nailed that role, and honestly, the voice acting is spot on, especially the female lead. Totally convincing 🙏

That subplot involving him feels a bit thin to me, but overall, it’s exactly the kind of movie you can recommend to anyone since it leans so heavily into suspense and raw emotion.

That was easily one of the most refreshing things I watched back in 2018—truly a standout. However, revisiting it for a second time just didn't hit the same; once that element of surprise is gone, the magic starts to fade quite a bit.

It didn't break the bank—the whole thing was shot in one tiny room with the lead actor and two extras.
Proof that you can still make a great movie on a shoestring budget.

I caught that too. It’s an interesting watch.

Like the comment above says, the whole thing takes place in a single room. Just one lead actor surrounded by a handful of extras or bit players, if you can even call them that. Makes me wonder what the budget actually looked like.

Americans actually made a remake starring DiCaprio as the lead

The film is fantastic—truly a top-tier piece of filmmaking from its original American creators. Here is my brief take.
