It didn't quite land for me. Fuqua knows how to craft fantastic action and drama, and he’s great at playing with character depth. This felt like a modern version of a Seagal siege—different setting, but the same old story.

To be fair, the movie is fun enough, but it didn't blow me away.

Now I'm just waiting for that other White House flick starring Schwarzenegger and Ray.

I couldn't quite make it to the end. Still, those sixty minutes were a decent enough distraction. 😁
The gunfire and explosions? Absolute chaos!

In any realistic scenario, they wouldn't even get close to the White House before being interrogated by the CIA about every little thing they've known since birth. 🙂

Bad movie. That’s putting it lightly. It felt like watching some cheap sci-fi flick where everything just explodes for the sake of it... kind of like Independence Day. Just plain bad. Totally uninteresting. They clearly thought they could just throw a ton of gunfire at the screen and call it a good movie.

Is this supposed to be some kind of setup to get people worried about North Korea? What are the world leaders actually cooking up? 2/10.

hey silvertiger11, I don't get why you even bother with movies like this when you know they aren't your vibe, just like 90% of stuff you watch. Honestly, I have no clue what kind of flick actually hits the spot for you, but if you're not the target audience—and clearly you aren't since you're all about those pretentious, overblown snoozefests (hey, maybe try Spring Breakers instead!)—then just skip it.

I just don't get people sometimes. They go watch Fast, which is basically a brainless movie but it has its fans and is decent enough in spots, and then they act all high and mighty when they don't "enjoy" it.

Like, Olympus Has Fallen is practically a masterpiece when you stack it up against the new Die Hard.

I watched the movie since it didn't cost me a dime.
Die Hard is trash, and using it as a benchmark for this flop tells you everything you need to know about how bad this was.
I'm talking real masterpieces here—stuff like JFK (1991) or Where Eagles Dare (1969). That's my level.

yeah, fair enough, but you can't really lump some dumb action flick in with heavyweights like JFK, or judge them by the same yardstick
i mean, you could, but it's not exactly a level playing field

I wasn't huge on Die Hard, but it still beats OHF in my book.
It’s a shame, really, because I thought OHF actually had a pretty solid cast... 😍

When I saw Morgan Freeman in one of those roles, I just assumed the movie was going to be incredible 🙂 But 😁

Honestly, the ending felt totally, and I mean totally, lackluster and underwhelming.

Even so, you still sat through it. Just because something was free doesn't mean it's worth your damn time... and I’m guessing you only watched it just so you could go around telling everyone it’s total garbage and that JFK is actually a masterpiece...

Personally, I’d say it’s pretty fun... I was just sitting here thinking about that one film... you know the one... and honestly, I can't stop looping back to how much it actually holds up. It’s funny how some movies just age like fine wine while others feel like they were made in a basement yesterday. This one? It’s got that specific kind of grit—that raw, unpolished energy that you just don't see much anymore in those big-budget, CGI-heavy blockbusters we get thrown at us every summer... anyway, where was I... right, the pacing. It’s perfect. No filler, just pure momentum. It makes most modern stuff look like they're moving through molasses... turns out, sometimes less really is more.Honestly, one of the better action marathons I've sat through in the last decade—well, at least the first half was solid. There isn't a single brain cell working in the script, but hey, if I wanted something smart, I wouldn't be watching this... 😁

To be honest, if it isn't a total disaster, it's at least half a disaster. Even that highly acclaimed first installment was pretty mediocre in my eyes.

Not even really about your specific comment here, but I’ve always been fascinated by people like that—you know the type. They don't even bother watching the thing, they just instinctively know it’s garbage. It’s honestly just snobbery in its most obnoxious form... which, to be fair, I’m perfectly fine with. I can have my fun watching something like JFK, sure, but I can also enjoy this kind of stuff too. If we’re being totally honest, it almost broadens my horizons just seeing how much elitism can actually limit someone's perspective...

Only an idiot tortures themselves with garbage once a movie becomes unwatchable. Obviously, I sped it up, and even Die Hard is better than this junk.
I think you have to be pretty low-brow to actually enjoy a flick like this. And usually, those types are the ones acting all high and mighty about morality around here.

My advice: go work through your issues somewhere else.
