Die Hard is trash, and using it as a benchmark for this flop tells you everything you need to know about how bad this was.
I'm talking real masterpieces here—stuff like JFK (1991) or Where Eagles Dare (1969). That's my level.

Good grief... 🙂

Just watching this right now—the first half actually feels like one of the better action flicks we've seen in years.
Sure, it’s loaded with clichés and the finale is predictably intense, but there's a solid sense of tension here. The action is top-tier, tight, and lacks that obnoxious, forced humor that plagued the last Die Hard.
If it holds up through the credits, I’d give it an 8/10 as a pure, unapologetic action movie—nothing fancy, no pretension to be something it isn't, just two hours of high-octane entertainment. 😁

It’s a bit of a snooze, but still better than Die Hard. It’s pretty uninspired, and honestly, the only thing separating it from some cheap action flick on FOX is the massive budget. The acting is terrible, though at least the shots aren't overly pretentious. I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it, but it isn't total garbage either.

For me, nothing beat that opening scene where Ashley Judd shows up 😍😍 🙂

I honestly think it would’ve been way more engaging if they’d gone a different route—maybe she survives and teams up with Banning to help rescue the president 🙂 just to let them navigate some chaos together along the way 🙂 (you know, add a little romance 😍 🍿 😁)

Anyway, that's just my take 🙂 And yeah, I'll say it again: one of the absolute highlights of the movie was whenever she was on screen 😂

Come on, don't be shy. You're among friends here. Just tell us—what's actually good in your book? Avatar? Titanic? With taste like yours, I’d be shocked if you had any actual standards.

And don't even try lying! 🙂

Avatar 😍 Where’s Face to tell people all the fights I've picked just for that flick? It's basically a gorgeous pile of garbage wrapped up in pretty 3D visuals... Titanic isn't bad, it holds its own, I guess, but I'm just not feeling Lea in that one. And if we're really going there... Let's say, a John Carpenter venture—the guy whose work is in my avatar, though he's definitely lost his touch lately, so sticking to his old stuff is safer—I don't mind him, nor do I have an issue with Peter Hyms and those 80s sci-fi flicks, even his crime dramas aren't half bad. Just because I can enjoy some mindless junk like Olympus doesn't mean that's all I live for. I just watch them without being a snob about it. It's funny how people assume I only like the classics just because I tend to rant loudly against all this empty CGI bullshit...

and stop lying! 🙂

Anyone who actually knows my taste and follows what I write can vouch for that...😉

So, I caught it yesterday. My overall impression is a bit soured by the second half—they really dropped the ball with some minor logical leaps and a rushed finish. What actually sat poorly with me, even for this genre, was the excessive sentimentality in that typical American style, plus a few forced jokes thrown in during the last 120 seconds to try and lighten the mood before the credits rolled and the house lights came up.

All things considered, it’s pretty solid. A 7/10 for two hours of decent entertainment; the action is constant and definitely doesn't skimp on the thrills—plenty of gunfights, bad guys getting absolutely wrecked, and explosions galore. 😁

Personally, I think that would have been an even bigger disaster. 😁

The only thing that really let me down was the final showdown. I was expecting something much better than that tired old cliché where the protagonist loses everything, only to pull off a last-second victory because the villain suddenly loses focus.

Moving forward, I’ll probably start tagging my posts with something like "light sarcasm on/off" 😬 🙂 😍 😂 😁

But yeah, I definitely agree that the ending was pretty lame! 🙂 Honestly, I think the whole experience would have left a much better impression if the finale hadn't been such a letdown 🥳

Look, I’ve never been much of an action movie person to begin with, so maybe my perspective isn't the gold standard here, but if we're being objective—this was a total 3/10 for me.

You aren't far off. Honestly, I'd give it a 2/10. People seem to think if you just pack a movie with enough gunfights, blood, and brutality, you've suddenly got a solid flick on your hands. And of course, there's that tired old formula: the President is in danger, a hero steps up to slaughter all the bad guys, and the audience walks away happy...

Good grief, if the powers that be use movies like this to desensitize the public—maybe to push for a harder line against North Korea or to justify future military moves toward them—then we have a problem. As far as art goes, I don't think this movie had any other purpose; it was just a total flop.

Are you actually serious right now??? 😁
Did you even watch the movie?
Or did you just skip it?

Ugh, what a total disaster... I was really hoping for at least a decent action flick, especially given the cast they put together, but man, this was just painful... It’s honestly one of the most unrealistic things I've seen in a long time... Like, the whole attack on the White House felt like it was scripted by a toddler... I actually ended up laughing at how ridiculous the entire thing was... definitely the worst movie I've sat through all year ☕

It’s pointless to "edit" any movie just to praise it,
and even stupider to "edit" someone else's work just to tear it down.

Clearly, logic isn't your strong suit. 😁

And I suppose all those other "one man against the world" action flicks are perfectly realistic?
Is the first Die Hard movie supposed to be some documentary?
Or any of those other critically acclaimed movies in that genre???
WTF???
Keep going—this is actually getting funny.

Personally, I thought it was totally absurd how they just *snaps fingers* (😁) took over the White House.
And by guys wearing damn keffiyehs around their necks at that. 🤣 🙂 😂

They might as well have thrown in a UFO 😳 That’s actually one of the reasons I feel this way about the movie. Look, I get it—it’s a movie, and obviously, it can't be 100% realistic. But don't treat the audience like idiots. If they had spent more time actually fleshing out the assault—you know, the actual takeover of the White House—it would have been infinitely more gripping 😍

I mean, watching Bullock try to drive a bus in "Speed" was more engaging than anything else happening during those two hours on screen...😬
