I honestly can't believe I've spent half an hour scouring the web and still haven't found a way to kill this registration process entirely.
I'm seriously considering ditching Firefox for Chrome—the raw performance, the security tech, and those deep-dive settings (the flags) are actually pretty impressive...

But here's the kicker: while privacy is just baked into the DNA of Firefox, in Chrome, you basically have to be a hardcore enthusiast to even attempt it. 😵
With Firefox, you just uncheck "remember history" and boom—it actually works. In Chrome, an option like that doesn't even exist. They give you this "clear data on exit" thing, which is about as effective for privacy as a screen door on a submarine.

Is there any way to tweak Chrome so its privacy levels actually stack up against Firefox?

There are extensions out there that handle that. Honestly, I don't think you can get it done without one...

So, seriously, why on earth isn't there an incognito mode?

Look, I've already wasted time messing around with extensions... and it's always the same story. Every single one of them wipes everything clean except for Google Chrome - recently closed tabs. Just great.

Sure, there is, but that totally misses the point. In Firefox, I shouldn't have to resort to incognito just to keep my history from being recorded...
