Best adblocker for Android?

I ended up downloading some random adblocker because whenever I try to browse this forum on my phone, I can't get through a single sentence—the page just crashes and pops open an ad, over and over again. It's driving me crazy! Does anyone have a solid recommendation for which adblocker I should actually install? Thanks!

From what I can gather, there aren't really any standalone ad-blocking extensions you can just plug into a mobile browser on an Android device—instead, you pretty much have to head over to the Play Store and grab a different browser altogether that comes with an adblocker built right in.

You actually have quite a few solid options to choose from, whether you're looking at an Adblock Browser for Android or even using Adblock Plus if you're browsing on the Samsung Internet app. One of my personal favorites is a really clever little app called Blokada, which is great because it doesn't just stop ads in your browser, but it actually blocks them within your other apps too—it’s like having a filter for your whole phone. As for me, I personally tend to stick with AdGuard, specifically the paid version, since it keeps everything running so smoothly.

Precisely, and it is called "Brave." It functions almost identically to Chrome. 👍It remains the superior choice; I have relied on it for years.

Using Brave, I don't see a single advertisement on this forum. 🙂

I was dealing with the exact same headache, honestly just about to go ahead and install Brave because those ads are getting way too out of hand...

Don't let them profit off you.☕ Brave has absolutely no downsides compared to standard Chrome (at least in my experience). It includes an adblocker, stops all ads, and saves mobile data. Only a fool would stick with Chrome over Brave.☕

So, I’m running into this weird little glitch where my forum looks all wonky in Brave—it blocks the actual ads, obviously, but it leaves this massive, awkward empty gap on the left side where the ads used to be. It’s like the layout is just... stuck. Does anyone know how to fix that so the page actually stretches to full width?

In Chrome, you could just hit the zoom option and scale everything up until those empty ad spaces disappear... I guess it works similarly for that one too...

So I try to fix it, but then every single time I click over to check another thread, it just snaps right back to how it was—so I’m stuck zooming in all over again...

I’m using UC Browser, which actually comes with an ad blocker built right in

Just popping in here to let you all know that one idiot has arrived. 😁 It’s interesting that nobody has brought up Mozilla Firefox yet. It actually supports all the same extensions you get on the desktop version, which is a huge plus. Personally, I run uBlock Origin on mine, and it handles ads so effectively that I don't see a single one. But honestly, that isn't even the best part. If you want something more streamlined, there's also Firefox Focus, which comes with all those privacy protections—ad blocking, tracker prevention, the whole works—already baked right in.

I’m a Chrome user, and I run the Blokada app. It completely wipes out ads in Chrome, my games, YouTube, you name it... Just download Blokada and feel free to use whatever browser you prefer.
