Outlook labels

Hey everyone,
I could use some advice 🙂 Here’s the deal—an IT tech was moving my business contact email over to a new server, and since I wanted everything accessible on my phone, I had all those messages forwarded to my private account. Is there a way to automatically tag every email sent to that business address with a specific Outlook label so they stay organized without me having to do it manually? Ideally, I'd love for all those business emails to land in their own dedicated tab, but as far as I know, Google doesn't really offer that... I tried searching through Google, but I might just be asking the wrong question. 🙂

Could someone please point me in the right direction? I'm trying to post something because I have a question for you all, but I'm honestly a bit lost—I can't figure out which option to select or where exactly this needs to go to be seen properly.

I think you'll have to tag them manually at first, until Google learns which senders are professional, then it might start routing them correctly. For those first few emails... 🤷 It might actually be easier to filter them in your personal account if you're mostly getting mail from the same small group of people. Maybe keep the personal stuff separate and let the work stuff hit the main inbox directly.🤷

I’m not too sure about doing that for a specific tab, but you can actually set up an Outlook label to assign itself automatically just by using a filter...

Thanks for the tips, Patrick King7 and ironcyclist58, I’m gonna give that filter trick a shot! It’s honestly such a pain having my inbox flooded like this since the contact email goes out to over 150,000 users—I don't want to lose track of anything important. It's pretty wild to me that Google didn't come up with a better way to handle inbox organization for situations like this... 🕺

That’s exactly what those Outlook labels are for. You just set up a filter to slap a specific label on the mail and keep it out of your inbox entirely.
