Socket replacement / repair help needed

Does anyone know a shop around Washington, D.C. or the surrounding area that actually handles socket repairs or replacements?

It's an LGA 1151 socket on one of those high-end Apple's motherboards, and honestly, it's way more cost-effective to just swap out the socket itself rather than tossing the whole board in the trash.

The pins are a total mess—lots of bent ones and at least one is completely snapped off—so I'm thinking a full socket replacement is probably the only way to go here.

On the other hand—and look, I’ve seen this before—if you're talking about an hourly rate for a technician, we're looking at maybe $150 or so... and if the job turns out to be even slightly complicated, good luck finding anyone willing to touch it without charging a fortune.

Honestly? Just grab a new motherboard and try to be more careful next time. Learn from the mess...

There are quite a few bent pins, and one is actually snapped off, so I'm thinking a full socket replacement might be the only real way to go.

Check out this Linus video—except in his case, none of the pins were actually broken, they were just bent, which makes them so much harder to fix...

Look, we're talking about a pretty high-end motherboard here, so I don't really mind dropping $200-$100 on a repair service.

I’m not entirely sure what I’d tell you—maybe just give a few repair shops a call and see what they have to say?

Maybe give the hardware sub over on Reddit a shot—you might run into someone who actually knows their way around that kind of work
