Folders and files keep opening on their own!

Man, I am dealing with a massive headache right now.
Everything on my laptop is basically possessed—I’m talking folders popping up, random websites opening by themselves,
even GomPlayer and the Start menu are acting out, plus my mouse cursor is drifting all over the place, the resolution keeps jumping, icon sizes are changing, you name it...
I started by running a full system scan, but everything came back totally clean—zero viruses found,
yet the madness just kept going.
So, I went ahead and did a full reinstall of the PC, but as soon as I started using it again, it was the exact same story...
everything is still opening on its own, just like before.
I'm running Windows 10. Does anyone have any clue what the hell is going on?
Please, I seriously need some help ASAP because I need this machine for work.

Is there any chance you could boot up a live Linux distro just so we can observe how it behaves under these conditions?

Have you tried running Windows in Safe Mode yet?

Alright, so I just toggled the Touchpad to off and everything seems fine again for now.
I honestly have no clue what was causing it since this PC is practically brand new, so I’m just gonna wait and see how things
play out before I post an update if the glitches start acting up again.
(It’s been happening where everything works perfectly, then like thirty minutes later,
the chaos starts all over again)
The machine is an ASUS VivoBook 15 X507MA.
I've had it for about six months, but I've actually only been using it heavily for about a month and a half.
My Touchpad sensitivity was set to medium, but I did some digging online and read that for these kinds of
glitches, you should probably switch it down to low.

Guys, I’ve got a massive problem on my hands now—I can't even get my laptop to turn on at all.
I was just messing around with an external USB hard drive plugged in, and while it was loading something, it hit
96%, but then I yanked the drive out. The stuff that was stuck at 96% just vanished, so I figured I'd just reboot the PC, use it for a bit,
and then shut it down. When I went to power off, it gave me that "do you want to shut down" prompt (honestly, I can't remember
exactly what the message said), so I just hit "shut down anyway" and killed the power. Now I'm trying to boot it back up,
but absolutely nothing is happening, even though the little indicator light on the side is glowing. I picked this thing up
a little over a year ago from Best Buy, but I've really only been using it for about a month and a half. Now I'm scrambling to find the warranty paperwork, but I think I might have tossed it in the trash. Please, I need some help here!

I stumbled upon this little hack online where you just hold down the power button for about 30 seconds, and man, it actually worked! Everything went dark and
when I hit the power button again, the whole thing kicked right back to life. I'll let you guys know if things go south, but right now I'm just sitting here waiting on some Windows updates to finish up.

Just viruses, I guess.

It could be the Touchpad acting up on its own, or maybe just a glitchy communication chip.
That usually happens internally through the USB bus.

I've dealt with USB mice before that would just drift across the screen on their own or mess up clicks—like hitting right-click when you clearly wanted left-click. Crazy stuff.

Alright, everything's looking good now so I'm gonna leave it be, but if anything starts acting up again, I'll definitely let you know.
