How to transfer data from a phone with a cracked screen to a computer?

A month ago, my phone screen shattered and basically died on me. It’s just showing this blank white screen, nothing else. I thought it was a total goner, but I can still hear the startup sounds and that low battery alert... So I figured I might be able to pull some data onto my PC, but it just shows up as an unknown device. I’ve been hunting for software to extract everything, but every single program requires me to toggle debuggin mode on the handset first. How in God's name am I supposed to do that when the screen won't even respond?

Any advice would be huge. I really need to get some private photos and PDFs backed up to my computer...

Honestly, I think you’re stuck without a screen. Just take it into a repair shop and tell them the priority is data recovery, not fixing the phone itself. They can probably just pop an old, cheap display on there—no need for all that messy glue and permanent stuff—just long enough to pull your files. I have no clue what their actual process looks like or what they'll charge you... but it's worth a shot.
