Hey everyone,
I’ve been hunting for a new laptop for a while now, and I think I'm finally ready to pull the trigger. Up until this point, I've been rocking my old Dell Inspiron N5010, and honestly, it’s been such a trooper through all these years, even if it is starting to struggle a little bit lately. I guess what I'm really looking for is something that’ll last me just as long—I don't want to be stuck buying another one in two years, you know? Most of my work involves editing high-res photos, using Adobe Illustrator, Ableton Live, and stuff like that. It would be super nice if it had an aluminum chassis instead of that cheap plastic feel, and ideally, I'd love something that isn't too heavy and has a battery that can actually hold up for a few hours (though I suppose I could probably manage without that). I was thinking about getting a MacBook, but then I realized I might be able to get a way better machine for the same amount of money. Plus, I have a soft spot for Dell, so I'm leaning that way. My budget is around $2333
.
After doing some digging online, I stumbled upon this:
Dell XPS 15 15.6" Intel i7 16GB GeForce Nvidia

• Intel Core i7-4702HQ @ 2.20GHz 4-cores
• 16GB RAM
• Nvidia GeForce GT750M
• 32GB mSATA SSD for app/Windows cache
• 1TB HDD
• 15.6" 3200x1800 tenpoint touch display
• keyboard white backlight with touchpad
• weight 2kg, thickness 2cm

• 4x USB, 1x mDP, 1x HDMI, 1x 3.5mm headset jack, 1x SD card port
• battery lasts over 2 hours
• original Windows 10 Professional 64bit

That Dell is a steal. Sure, the processor is technically a generation behind now, but honestly, who cares? It’s still a beast. The resolution is incredible, and if you plan on hooking up an external monitor, the workflow is going to be seamless.

It’s got everything you need—no complaints here, really, except maybe the GPU being a bit weak. But since the resolution is so high, there's a good chance it's packing GDDR5 memory. With a 128-bit bus, even an older card can hold its own. Look, don't expect to play heavy games at this resolution; usually, you'd need way more power for that, but for professional work, it'll be just fine. Plus, it has a decent 384 CUDA cores you can lean on for hardware acceleration when you need it...

👍 Nice find. 👍 Grab it while you still can. 😬
