I currently have Adobe Premiere Pro on my laptop, but there seems to be a strange glitch with my Adobe Creative Cloud installation; while Photoshop and Illustrator are working perfectly fine, my Premiere license actually expired quite some time ago—it’s just stuck in trial mode rather than being fully activated like the others. Because of this, I decided to download a fresh version (specifically the 7-day free trial), but the download process has been dragging on for over 48 hours now. I haven't even shut down my computer in nearly three days! Is it really normal for a download to take this much time? Does anyone know what I can do to speed things up? I'm pulling the files directly from Adobe Creative Cloud, and the top of the page simply says, "Adobe Premiere is downloading now..." but there isn't any helpful progress bar, no percentage indicator, and absolutely no estimate of how much longer I'll be waiting. Should I just give up on this attempt? Would switching browsers help at all? I've been using Firefox, so maybe I should try Chrome instead? I'm feeling a bit lost as to what the actual issue might be. To make matters worse, this is becoming quite urgent because my laptop mouse has stopped working, which makes it nearly impossible to use all of Premiere's essential functions, and I really need to master trailer editing so I can get my materials sent off by October 10th.

The download is still crawling along at a snail's pace; it’s honestly such a tease. I can't help but wonder if there's some sort of glitch because I already have Adobe Premiere Pro installed, even though my subscription has actually expired. Should I just go ahead and wipe it from my system entirely? I'm thinking perhaps my computer recognizes the old files are still sitting there, and that's somehow preventing the new version from overwriting them properly. Maybe clearing out the old stuff would actually help speed up this whole downloading process. 🤔

Try a different browser. But if you're planning on reinstalling a trial version that’s already been sitting on this computer, don't hold your breath. 😬 Adobe builds some pretty clever traps to make sure that doesn't work...

Thanks, 🙂 (Though I'm still scratching my head over why, with one single Creative Cloud subscription, I ended up with this bizarre mix—some programs work perfectly fine, like Adobe Illustrator; others constantly nag me for registration every single time I launch them, forcing me to just click "later" and essentially stall the inevitable for years now, such as Adobe Photoshop; and then there are the ones that seem to have expired almost instantly, which brings us to my current headache, Premiere Pro.) In the meantime, I had a bit of a revelation—or rather, a sudden reminder—that my supposedly broken wireless mouse (which won't even budge with a fresh battery) actually has a tiny USB dongle tucked inside. Using that to connect to my laptop instead of my desktop, I actually managed to get through all my Premiere Pro tasks after all. 🤦 😁
