Quick question for you guys—I just picked up a Seagate BarraCuda 1 TB 7200rpm (WD10EZEX) and I was reading online that if I register it on the manufacturer's site, they bump the warranty up to five years. Is that actually a thing for this specific drive, or is that perk reserved for their higher-end models? 🤔

It should work fine. Just try registering it; if his serial number goes through, you've got a warranty you can claim directly with Seagate BarraCuda support if things go south.

That’s actually what I was wondering—if Seagate BarraCuda offers any extended coverage. I ordered my Hard Drive from H&R Block, and they only provide a 2-year warranty.

Honestly, that old Seagate BarraCuda 1 TB has been spinning away for nearly two decades now—it’s basically a relic at this point.
