Look, if you want software that doesn't choke, you need a beefy processor, plenty of RAM, a GPU with as many CUDA cores as possible, and an SSD. Trying to pull all that together for $4,500 is basically impossible.
If you're stuck at that price point, you might have to settle for a compromise like this:

Anything else you look at in this price range is going to have a much weaker GPU and a processor that's half as fast. In my book, raw power matters more than having an SSD right out of the gate, even though I know how much of a difference one makes...
Besides, you can always just buy an SSD later once you actually have the cash and swap it into the drive bay where the DVD player used to be—since nobody uses those things anymore anyway.
