Moderation on the "small and thin dick" thread

I'm following you, I just don't quite get how a psychologist would contribute to the discussion or why they'd even be necessary here.

And how exactly can hollowmason64 contribute to this—or even the topic itself? (To be more specific, I’m referring to those two, well, minimal posts of hers where she "probes" Monica's psychology, if that's the right way to put it... though she's really just trolling. I suppose I could point out exactly which parts are problematic. But honestly, it doesn't feel fair, and I don't see much point in trying to explain myself or defend my position against that kind of hostility.)

hollowmason64 was actually pretty active on that thread—unlike you.
hollowmason64 follows LJES pretty regularly and almost always posts there—which is a bit different from how you handle things.
hollowmason64 always seems to have the luck of hitting on threads where our dear little Monica ends up getting "attacked, insulted, and belittled"—which is a pretty big contrast to how people treat you.

So, I figure I’ll let all of this build up enough context to make me worth listening to when I finally drop my take on which one... ☕

Man, what a title. 🤦 This thread could easily be renamed LJES—just a dedicated space for moderating specific topics.

I have zero intention of turning this thread into a "small and thin penis" discussion, though it’s definitely heading that way.

I don't think rustydrifter10 is going to jump to any monstrous or idiotic conclusions here, because she hasn't. Nor do I think she's about to spiral into some delusions of being followed or a full-blown persecution complex.

Sophia Thomas7—you keep dodging the point. The core issue isn't about judging my "guilt." The point is that you should apply the same logic when someone questions your competence, your intelligence, or anything else, whether they are one of your forum buddies or someone you can't stand. Otherwise, you aren't being objective. You're basically telling me that if I feel insulted by a post, I should just leave it up to you to decide if it actually was an insult or not. If you decide it wasn't, then I’m supposed to just ignore my own gut feeling and move on? Fine. Or I can fire back with the same energy, which just drags out the flame war and makes me just as "guilty" as the other guy. Or I can ignore it until it happens again. And it always happens again. That’s when we end up here to talk.

What’s even the point of having those red warning flags then?

But honestly, LJES—and this whole site for that matter—isn't supposed to be just spam, trolling, or insults. At least, that shouldn't be the primary focus, especially since anyone can do that. We've had some high-quality threads in the past, like that one from Emeritczi about expectations, and a few others since I joined. Now, LJES is mostly just spam and junk, with the occasional thread that actually has potential for a real conversation. Humor is a different thing entirely; usually, people can tell the difference. If you think what I'm saying has nothing to do with how you moderate, I think you're dead wrong.

hollowmason64, I'm sure you're keeping tabs on my posts, but I'm noticing (not for the first time) that you're drawing the wrong conclusions. If moderation is applied equally to everyone, it significantly lowers the chances of you getting "ripped to shreds" in a thread. Unless, of course, you actually enjoy that. So there. And for the record, Lisa Hernandez3 has much more business being in this thread because she's on PZK, not because of your posts. Do I really need to ask who mentioned, touched you?
