I am looking for a monitor for use up to $333, ideally around 22 inches, and I intend to pick it up locally in New York City.

I have received these two recommendations so far:

Got these two suggestions

I'm leaning toward this second one, it's a bit cheaper here 😁

Neither of those are IPS monitors,😁 so my recommendation is the Dell UltraSharp. Considering what you get for just $267(CNN), it is quite clearly the best 22-inch monitor on the market. Since a DVI cable isn't included in the box, you'll definitely need to pick one up separately.

If you want to understand why an AMVA LCD panel or monitor is worth it just check out this link and read what I wrote there.🍿

It might be cheaper, but you can find a 22 inch AMVA for significantly even less money.😁

Alright, what kind of cable should I pick up to connect this to my laptop? I've got both VGA and HDMI outputs available here.

You really should have mentioned you were planning to connect it to a laptop in your first post,😁 because most modern laptops pretty much only offer HDMI for video output anyway. Since that's the case, you just need to pick up a DVI to HDMI cable—about a meter should be plenty—and luckily those aren't expensive at all, $12so there shouldn't be any issues.🍿
