Look, let's not go "attacking" the guy for no reason hereโ€”slytinker11 actually asked to step down from moderation a while back (I think it was right around when Alicia joined the team), but we basically talked him into staying just a bit longer to help us out. So, yeah, his original request kind of just got lost in the shuffle of the forum archives ๐Ÿ™‚

Just please, anything but Greco for moderation. ๐Ÿ™‚

The guy is the heart and soul of this subforum, but that dark energy in his username would just weigh him down completely.

Personally, I think most of the people listed would actually make solid moderators. Iโ€™m leaning towards Masha and slytinker11 because they both cover both the women's and men's tennis circuits equally, don't push their own agendas on everyone else, and could probably build some real authority without losing the plot. ๐Ÿ‘ Greco really knows his stuff when it comes to tennis, but heโ€™s already running that Facebook page and trying to live ten different lives at onceโ€”I'm just worried he might overextend himself. ๐Ÿคฃ Still, he definitely makes my top 4. โ˜• My colleague perinjo might not post a ton, but he wouldn't be a bad choice for the job either. ๐Ÿคท

Do you really thinkโ€”in Masha's caseโ€”she follows the men's side of the sport just as much? ๐Ÿ™‚

I agree with the sentiment regarding the other two, generally speaking.

Nancy Collins16 said:Our colleague Perinjo might not be a frequent poster, but heโ€™d make a decent moderator.๐Ÿคท

We don't want this selection process to get tangled up in family ties, friendships, or any other messy connectionsโ€”just like last time. We all saw how that played out; let's not invite a repeat performance. ๐Ÿ™‚

Greco might actually be the perfect choice for moderation since he never goes on anyone's case or talks trash about players... which is more than most of the rest of you can say.
If weโ€™re judging by those standards, maybe Masha or Lyra could cut it. Everyone else? Not a chance.

Besides, heโ€™s really the only one putting in actual work for this site, keeping up with the ATP picks, stats, scoring, and building all those tables... itโ€™s obvious he actually gives a damn. So there's no point in trying to discredit him when heโ€™s probably the best candidate we've got.

Given how much nothing but insults and lies we usually get, Greco is way more likable and easy to deal with ๐Ÿคฃ

Please, just stop. ๐Ÿคฆ

Greco isn't cut out for moderation. Some people are born for this role, and others simply aren't. He isn't one of them. You even admitted yourself that he never argues or engages in debate; you can say whatever you want to him and he won't react. slytinker11 - for a good forum. ๐Ÿ™‚

While I agree that slytinker11 is the top pick for moderation, she isn't exactly immune to the very flaw youโ€™re criticizing Greco forโ€”instability. To give you an exampleโ€”after Serena lost to Muguruza at the US Open last year, slytinker11 actually broke down in tears. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

Iโ€™m only pointing this out so we don't pretend slytinker11 is some flawless saint; we all know people tend to gravitate toward those they can actually relate toโ€”someone with a few human imperfections. ๐Ÿ™‚

Greco isn't cut out for moderation, you've got people who were born for this job and then there's everyone else... he's just not it. Even you admitted he never gets into fights or even starts an actual debate, you can basically say whatever you want to him without any pushback... slytinker11 โ€” for a good forum. ๐Ÿ™‚

Look, you're becoming a real pain in the ass. I know Vidin thinks this is all just some big game for him to troll and have a laugh like he always does, but we actually came here to share our own damn opinions. I don't see any reason why you have to constantly drag his name through the mud and bring him up every five seconds... seriously, what is your obsession with him? Itโ€™s like every time someone mentions a name you guys don't like, you just immediately quote them and start coming at them... you guys are honestly exhausting...

Look, I havenโ€™t brought up slytinker11 in a negative light once, yet you keep pushing me on it... So fine, since everyone's digging for an answer, here it is: I wouldn't want that kind of moderation. You can't have someone running the show who goes around calling players frauds, unpolished raw talent, or bad actors... (sorry, slytinker11)

Itโ€™s probably just some bottom-feeder losing his mind and Grecov being way too nice...

rustydrifter10 lock this thread and give them the mod roles already because they're starting to get on my nerves...

You have a point. It is clear how effectively we are complementing one another and working together in our shared goal to improve American tennis...

Larry Sanchez7, I have the right to speak up and respond, and that is exactly what I am doing. I am laying out the specific reasons why Greco is unfit for moderation...

Everything... For a good forum....

Come on, let's not start fighting and bickering here too, please...

Does every single topic really have to turn into this?

I'll hand out warnings to everyone if I could! (not that I actually can..)

Thatโ€™s exactly why we need moderation to keep us in line. Though, obviously, it shouldn't be someone whose peak level of contribution is: "I'm feeling unstable, Gaga is dropping a new song in 263 days "๐Ÿ™‚ ".

I agree... we need them... but you guys shouldn't act like this and expect everyone to just jump in and lecture you..
At least not over stuff like this.

I guess we'll get some moderation soon enough.
Just hang tight. It's the weekend, so I assume the moderation team and the admins have to touch base and work things out first.

@ Moderation

Any updates here? Is there any discussion or thought being given to our request regarding the need for more moderators on this tennis forum?

Where is this all heading, I guess?

Thanks for letting me know.

We're looking over the proposals right now. We'll hash everything out and make our decisions in the next couple of days.

Oh, we haven't forgotten! Once the PDF gets a new moderator, they'll show up on the list, and we might even get a proper welcome thread started for them. ๐Ÿ˜

Man... I wonder who they're picking. Who are the new mods gonna be?
