PC keeps turning itself on.

Good afternoon. My aunt picked up a new desktop today, but once we got it set up, things got weird. A few hours after the initial boot, I noticed the machine starts itself if someone even nudges the desk. It’s sensitive enough that if a kid walks by and bumps the table, or if you just set a stack of books down, the PC triggers. It's running Windows 10. My question is: is this a faulty power button, or am I looking at a deeper hardware issue?

Is the computer perhaps in sleep mode?
I haven't heard of anyone's PC just turning itself on if it’s actually powered down completely.

Maybe someone who knows more about this can provide a better answer.

My computer was just sitting there in sleep mode, then the mouse nudged slightly and the whole thing decided to wake up on its own. Honestly, either that happened, or I’ve somehow managed to accidentally hit the power button while reaching for a banana.

Windows 8.1 defaults to hybrid sleep instead of a full shutdown to speed things up, but I can tweak that in the settings. I could also just go into the BIOS and kill Wake on LAN, USB, keyboard, whatever else is triggering it...
