Hey, not sure if I’m even in the right spot for this kind of mess. My Hotmail account just went totally dark—I can't receive any emails at all. To make things worse, a coworker just told me they got some creepy email from my address claiming I have leukemia and asking for money. I’m assuming my account got hijacked, but yeah, that's the situation. Now, I can log in just fine, but nothing comes through. I don't click on spam, and I don't use this address for signing up for random junk because it's strictly for work—mostly just checking in with my boss and a few others. If anyone actually knows how to fix this nightmare, I’d really appreciate the help. Peace.

I was just wondering—how do you usually handle your inbox? Are you more of a dedicated mail client person, maybe using something like Outlook or Thunderbird, or do you prefer just logging straight into the web interface through Gmail or Yahoo?

Hmm...

The only thing that comes to mind right now—and I could be totally off here—is that maybe your inbox is just completely maxed out? If you're over your storage limit, those emails simply won't land.
Have you tried sending a test email to yourself from a different account—say, a Gmail or Outlook address—just to see if it actually goes through? And more importantly, did you happen to catch an error message or a "bounce back" notification explaining why it failed?
Also, is it possible there’s a filter in place? You know how it is—you might have accidentally flagged that sender as spam or set up a rule to auto-delete their messages without even realizing it!
There really could be a whole laundry list of technical hiccups causing this.

Nothing was messed with; this just hit me out of nowhere. I'm trying to send stuff from my secondary account to my main one, but it’s just bouncing back. The weird part? Sending from the main to the secondary works fine. But man, what really trips me out is that notification my coworker got—it looked like an email actually sent from my address

bluetiger132 said:I haven't changed a single setting—this just started happening out of nowhere! I can send emails from my secondary account to this one without any issues, but the reverse just won't work. What’s really throwing me for a loop, though, is that weird message my colleague received that appeared to be sent from my address.

So, what specific error message pops up when the email fails to send?
I mean, does the system actually give you some kind of notification at all?
Maybe try resetting your password first...
As for that message your coworker got—that sounds like classic spam. It's entirely possible your account has been compromised.
It could be some random bot somewhere out there using your address to blast out junk mail.
