Emily Ortiz3 didn't actually manage to start her own thread; instead, her top post was just pulled from another discussion on the main board and moved over here. Totally my bad for not mentioning that in her post—sorry about the confusion!

It would be super awesome if some kind soul could jump in and walk her through the process step-by-step so she knows how to start a new thread next time. 🙂

How do I get image codes to actually work when I start a new thread?

It’s already enabled. What exactly are you trying to achieve here?

I honestly can't follow your train of thought. You really need to try explaining your process and your end goal with a bit more clarity.
By the way, Imgur is having issues with forum embeds lately, so you might want to look into using a different hosting site.

It’s honestly not even an Imgur issue at all because whenever I try to start a fresh thread, I see this "images disabled" message sitting right at the bottom of the editor (check out that screenshot I posted earlier) which basically means I'm stuck sending nothing but raw links instead of actually getting my pictures to show up properly in the post, so just take a look at what I'm trying to do here

If you start a new thread, will you be able to drop an image in later? Give it a shot on this subforum.

edit: On the Democratic Party forums, internet access is disabled for img tags by default. I have no clue why they do that, but there are plenty of other subforums just like it. Still, since people manage to post images just fine, I don't see why it should be an issue.

So, on this specific thread, I can definitely do it because the image settings are toggled on... if you just scroll all the way down, you'll see it says "image on," and then when you hit that post reply button, the "insert image" option pops right up in the menu at the top! But man, if the image setting is turned off, that whole "insert image" feature just vanishes from the menu entirely. Like, check out this other subforum here where images are disabled—you're totally stuck only being able to paste a direct link to a photo instead of actually posting the picture itself...

So I just realized, it looks like some people actually have their images showing up while others don't, and honestly, it totally seems to depend on which specific subforum or thread you're opening up in...

Just post the link then, just like everyone else does. I realized after the fact that you were talking about some shady corner of the internet where image codes are disabled anyway.

Just hit that "new thread" button located at both the top left and the bottom of the subforum topic list.
Make sure you actually bother to read the subforum rules before you go posting anything.
