Audio issues / No sound

I am having some trouble with my audio setup, to put it briefly 😁

My PC has an integrated sound card as well as a dedicated sound card I added separately...
When I install Windows XP, the audio only works through the integrated card, while the dedicated one remains silent (even though I installed the driver using DriverPack Solution 2014)

However, when I install Windows 7, the audio works perfectly fine through the dedicated sound card...

Where is the issue?

So okay, are you actually planning on using XP anyway? You mentioned everything works fine on Windows 7, so I assume that's what you're running. And seriously, stay away from DriverPack Solution and all that other junk for downloading drivers. Find them manually; those programs are garbage, every single one of them, at least based on my experience. Just check your sound card model, head over to the manufacturer's website, and download the driver directly—you can't really mess that up. Those automated tools often end up installing completely wrong or outdated drivers.

Honestly, this machine is basically a paperweight :3. My actual PC for heavy lifting—like gaming—is currently broken, so I won't have access to it for a while... what a pain...

By the way, when I listen to music, I crank the volume all the way up. The quality from the integrated audio is pretty weak compared to this dedicated card I just installed. That's really the only reason I'd even bother with XP, since it isn't demanding. This is just meant to be a backup computer.😁

Gotcha, alright then. What specific card did you plug in there? I'll send you the links for the drivers so you can just grab them and install them manually on Windows XP.
