Touchpad acting up?

I've got a Dell Latitude running macOS and I ran into a sudden headache. No idea what happened—one minute everything is fine, the next the touchpad is just dead. The cursor isn't even showing up on the screen anymore. Right now, I'm stuck navigating everything via the keyboard. Did I accidentally disable some setting? Who knows...
I need someone to point me in the right direction. Where should I start looking to figure out if this is a software glitch or if the hardware is actually fried?

Do you see any yellow exclamation points or question marks showing up in your Device Manager?

Have you given the FN + F9 combo a shot? I believe it's the F9 key—you should see a little icon representing the touchpad right there on one of your function keys.

Hello there. I am reaching out regarding my Dell Inspiron 15. I’ve run into a bit of a strange situation where the touchpad seems to function normally only if I hold down one finger on the bottom left corner while using a second finger to navigate the surface; otherwise, it just acts like I'm trying to scroll 😕. This isn't something that has been happening forever, though; it actually just started appearing a few days ago. The laptop itself is relatively new—only about two months old, actually. I have a feeling this issue might have been triggered by enabling some specific setting or feature, but I haven't quite been able to pinpoint which one it might be (there is a dedicated key to toggle the touchpad on and off, which I have already tried, but unfortunately, the problem persists...)
