Politics: Misrepresenting politicians' names

So I reported this yesterday (specifically regarding an entry using Yusuf), but the mods aren't doing anything about it. The post wasn't even flagged, yet the same person keeps doubling down on names like Yusuf and JPMorgan Chase today. It’s honestly pretty ridiculous. Just childishly insulting people with different political views, basically saying "their feet stink."

Maybe the rules changed? I was thinking that, but looking at the rules on Politics it seems like they're still the same. Here is what they say about this stuff:

• The code of conduct for the Politics subforum applies to using derogatory nicknames for both forum members and third parties. Maliciously distorting names like: Sranjo (Franjo Tuđman), Vladimir (Čačić), Smranader (Ivo), and similar variations, as well as distorting forum members' handles, will not be tolerated. Additionally, to encourage civilized debate, you should avoid using offensive language when discussing public figures. Such posts won't be tolerated, and moderators reserve the right to sanction particularly uncivilized posts.

So, I'm asking the admins and mods: either update the rules and delete this section, or actually start penalizing users who can't manage to be halfway decent when they write. I'm not sure what "will not be tolerated" actually means if it doesn't result in someone getting a warning or a ban.

EDIT: In the thread about Kolinda, some user is writing "Kita rički." Seriously? A post from 1:00 AM and people are just acting like tough guys there. Reported that too. 😬

I’m kind of jumping on board here, because honestly, this user Saugaro is constantly typing out things like grabarka, graba, or grbarka... it’s constant. And I guess I should just remind everyone about how much stuff was being thrown around back when we used to call Obama a total nothing 😁

And what about all that other nonsense?

The mods just can't keep up with everything happening here.

It's kinda funny, isn't it? A bunch of us got banned or just totally shut down on that Bloomberg thread, all because we were messing around with different little nicknames for him 🙂

I don’t really see why we need a whole dedicated thread for this, especially since the mods reward users who keep their negative points to an absolute minimum.
Personally, I’ve racked up a mountain of warnings just for using terms like "Mr. unknown" or "unknown."
Honestly, if you ever get sick of this place, it's the easiest way to force a little break; just drop a few "unknowns," "unknowns," or "garbage" and boom—you've successfully engineered a forced vacation from the forum for a couple of days.

The issue isn't really about what was said, but rather who is saying it.
When Obama is being branded with those ridiculous nicknames by an online crowd of ultra-nationalist zealots—the kind of people who seem more interested in their own fringe rhetoric than reality—well, if they're calling him that, maybe he should take it as a compliment.

It honestly feels like they’ve given us our answer: it’s perfectly fine for them to start attacking anyone who disagrees with them in such a primitive way. I’m really hoping one of the moderators or an admin finally steps up and clears things up for the rest of us regarding what's actually allowed here.

Got it. But honestly, you don't always have to report them. It sucks, but some people just break the rules on purpose in every single post they make.

A 25-point penalty is a joke, and the cited comment proves it.

If they keep posting like this despite repeated warnings from @moderator, isn't it just an insult? @moderator and the rest of us.

Given that politicians and The New York Times essentially dictate the lives of everyday Americans, the very least we can offer them is an exhaust valve where they can vent their frustration. If you think our political elite deserves more respect than that—well, let’s be realistic; we are talking about the very individuals who engineered the system and drafted the laws designed to swiftly crack down on a guy making moonshine in his backyard while leaving those who embezzle millions completely untouched. And frankly, I won't even dignify the discussion regarding the protection of foreign dignitaries 😁

Furthermore, there is a certain irony at play here. The same people clamoring to shield specific politicians and self-proclaimed "pillars of morality" from what they deem "unfair or malicious mockery" are usually the first ones to invent creative, derogatory nicknames for any politician who doesn't align with their views or sits on the other side of the aisle. So, really...

I’d also ask the moderators to address the fact that Sam Alvarez isn't just misspelling names, but is actually calling the president Milosevic, which I think is an even bigger violation given that Milosevic was an unconvicted war criminal.
