But man, he looks pale. When he started turning his eyes toward me a couple of times... it hit me. He’s lost so much weight, tooβ€”just constantly working himself to the bone. Aside from the fact that he's a genuinely good guy, and he always will be... time is just cruel. In his case, it should have just stopped.

I wonder, was there actually a real tear during Smiler with Knife? Does anyone happen to know the backstory behind that track? Maybe it holds some specific personal significance for him?

... which isn't really surprising, since he had a bit of a break during the tour right before this show...

As for the bandβ€”the sound quality wasn't quite up to the level of their usual performance and energy, but considering how quickly and haphazardly they pulled this concert together, I guess it wouldn't be fair to criticize it too harshly.

Ultimately, thoughβ€”it was exactly what it needed to be: perfect. πŸ•Ί

On tour, the whole stage setup is just this pure disco aesthetic they basically ripped straight from Top of the Pops πŸ˜‰

Oh, I just realizedβ€”in the Smiler with Knife track, there's actually this part where he says:
Time Has Frittered Long and Slow All I
All I am and all I ever wasβ€”it's all just going to fade away eventually.
But where are we actually headingβ€”and why start this right now?

On this part: If I Die, Then I Die β€” just one of those thoughts that hits you when you're staring at the ceiling late at night!
Smiler with Knife, take it from meβ€”
You'll Be Okay
You'll Be Okay

His voice just gave out on himβ€”poor guy!
Remember that moment? Right before he said: I Am Blind I'm
It probably hit him hard, hearing those lyrics performed like thatβ€”so incredibly sad. ;(

It was beautifully painful. You know, one of those rare, heavy moments in life where you realize everything is about to change and nothing will ever feel quite the same again. Honestly, I didn't even notice the rest of the crowd at the show; I was just lost in it. And the new album? It sounds so much better live than it does on the studio recording (which, let's be honest, is almost always the case).
I suppose I tend to lean a bit too hard into the melodrama, so please don't take my sentimentality too seriously.
