Hey, I've run into a bit of a headache... why is it that whenever I plug my graphics card into this specific motherboard, I just get a black screen when I boot up the PC?

Did you actually plug the monitor into the GPU itself, rather than just using the motherboard output?

I didn't just slide the graphics card into the motherboard... (-:...I'm a total amateur here... do I actually need a cable?

Make sure you plug the cable from the motherboard directly into the graphics card.

I’m honestly not sure if the cable should be plugged directly into the motherboard or if it needs to go from the graphics card straight into the monitor...

I'm just sitting here looking at this graphics card... it's got three different outputs available, so I guess I just need to grab the right cable to hook it up to the monitor

The graphics card just slides right into the motherboard... there isn't even a power cable on the board to plug into the card.

The cable from the monitor needs to plug directly into the graphics card.
Regarding the inside of the case—if your GPU has an extra power pin, you absolutely have to connect that to the power supply unit.

What kind of graphics card are you actually running?
