So, here’s the build I’m looking at putting together:
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K (or maybe it was an 8120, honestly, my memory isn't great these days)
GPU: GeForce GTX 750 Ti
RAM: 8 GB
PSU: 700/750W
MOTHERBOARD: Not sure yet—still need to figure out what actually fits—but I don't think that's the main issue right now
HARD DRIVE: 1TB, assuming I can find a decent one from Harvard
I have a few questions where I could really use some help... I've been browsing Dell, and I'm wondering if there's a better combo of processor and graphics card that makes more sense for the money. I could probably swing an extra $50 for each component if it means getting something worthwhile... Also, regarding the CPU choice: which would be the smarter move? 1. Intel Core i5-3570K or 2. Intel Core i7-3770K

That doesn't seem quite right...

What’s the goal for this build? Are you grabbing all the parts from one shop? What's the budget looking like? And do you really need to go through Instagram? I think there are plenty of cheaper retailers out there.

I honestly don't get what it is about that whole Instagram scene that keeps everyone glued to their screens. Maybe it’s just the branding, but even when I started digging through different offers myself, I found myself getting pulled in by

It definitely caught my attention too.

I think they’ve built quite a reputation; a lot of people outside the tech scene view them as the coolest spot or even the only reliable computer retailer around. It might be because they handle all the hardware setups for government offices, corporations, and schools, so those names stay in people's heads. Just take a look at their client list

Especially when you see kids posting about pre-built rigs from them all over the forums. 🤣

To be fair, they do drop some solid deals and competitive prices every now and then—especially on laptops.

Everything is finally starting to make sense.
It seems like people here don't really give much credit to the likes of Adm, Futura, or Centro on this forum.
They really should consider working on a more polished, high-end image. For instance, Futura looks great these days—a massive improvement from two years ago—whereas Adm used to be a total disaster; you could never actually guess what kind of menus he was going to serve.

Thank God they'll finally list the warranty info on every single product page🙄 that was the one thing driving me crazy about them😬

When does the dev phase wrap up? ☕

I honestly can't recall; I stumbled upon that link ages ago on one of their threads over on the PC hardware forums.

BTW, looking at it right now—it’s still inconsistent. For instance, they aren't listing warranties for things like CPU coolers or power supplies... But hey, I guess it's still a work in progress.

Copying things is going to be a real pain. Personally, I'm fine with how the page looks right now, regardless of what people are claiming about it being outdated.

I can still whip up a configuration on it faster than anyone else

I'm checking out Best Buy since it’s basically the only shop within driving distance of 31 miles, unless you count Walmart—but their prices are honestly a joke...
My budget is sitting at maybe $750 without a monitor...though that's really pushing it, like, absolute absolute limit territory. I was actually hoping to land somewhere around $600 so I'd have some breathing room left over for a decent screen, but we'll see how it goes.

🤔

If I recall correctly, Micro Center only has physical stores in major hubs like New York City, where, thank goodness, you actually have several budget-friendly alternatives nearby... Plus, you've got those overpriced delivery services to deal with.

You still haven't mentioned what you're planning to use the PC for, right?
