Look, I’m just trying to point out that this rule is technically full of holes. Check out these three scenarios:

1)
User A: That's how it is.
User B: Oh yeah? Drop the link!
User A: No, find it yourself.

2)
User A: That's how it is.
User B: Oh yeah? Drop the link!
User A: [link]

3)
User A: That's how it is.
User B: Oh yeah? Drop the link!
User A: Here you go, [link]

Mods, please be honest with me—especially given how things have been handled over on the Ukraine thread. Convince me that examples 2 and 3 aren't right on the edge of being banned, because I see them all the time. Meanwhile, example 1 pops up on basically every other page of every single sub-forum, and nobody seems to care or even blink.

How much does example 1 actually add to a discussion compared to 2 and 3?

Look, it's pretty simple. Rocky made it crystal clear in all caps: you're breaking the forum rules. If you drop a link, you have to explain what it is. We don't all have nothing better to do than click every single link just to watch a clip or read some random article.☕
