Question from the title. Out of nowhere, ads are popping up and covering half my screen. Where did this even come from? A month ago, things were actually manageable—just those little 4cm strips on the right, plus a banner at the top and bottom and a pop-up here and there. Now, I've got this massive takeover happening too. It's making it impossible to actually read anything... Is there any way to kill these or at least dial them back?
Does the sheer volume of ads have anything to do with why the forum servers seem to be crashing more often lately?

Honestly, your only real move here is to just install an ad blocker like AdBlock and call it a day.

I've got AdBlock running... but man, I can't for the life of me figure out how to center this forum layout, it's driving me crazy. 🤷

Not even close... Even if you go with a square that's about 300 px thick, you're still left with 🤣

Whatever. The admins need their paycheck, I guess. Clearly, the forum and its users come second 😢

left over.
What can you expect? The admins need their paycheck, so I guess the forum and its users just don't matter. 😢

I totally agree—this ad clutter is getting ridiculous. They should have left the forum width alone.

And how does one go about removing that from Chrome? I already have AdBlock installed.

It doesn't work on mobile devices.

But how exactly?

Walk me through the steps—how am I supposed to plug this into AdBlock???

How does it even know to detect this page and center the forum properly?

Just find the custom filters option and drop this in: forum.com##TD[width="300"]

And obviously, download a filter list if it isn't enabled by default. Personally, I stick with EasyList.

Do these people running the ad campaigns seriously not get it? They’re just wasting their budget because those ads are driving me absolutely insane—it's enough to make my blood boil. I am telling you right now, there isn't a trillion dollars in the world that would convince me to click on one of those links!
