I picked up some replacement black ink, thinking I could just stick to printing black and white documents...

But when I put it in my HP printer... nothing works. It keeps throwing a "low black ink" error message at me.🙂🙂

Well, since I saw this coming, another issue has me stumped. I’ve completely run out of color cartridges, and now the printer won't let me print anything at all—it says it needs color to function? I have no idea why.

Is there actually a way to bypass the color requirement so I can just print in black and white? Or am I stuck needing both black and color to get anything done?🙂 Because honestly, these cartridges aren't cheap.$6.75

Thanks in advance for any help.

Is it just straight up refusing to start printing at all, or is it more like the color stuff isn't showing up on the page?

🙂

""""The following ink has run out.
Color <CL-38>
The following ink is running low.
Black <PG-40>
Prepare a new ink cartridge.
The resulting print quality may not be satisfactory, if printing is continued under this condition.
If either black or color ink cartridge has run out, you can set the printer to continue printing with the other cartridge from the Ink Cartridge Settings on the Maintenance tab of the printer driver."""

That's the message I get whenever I hit PRINT...

And I literally just bought a new black cartridge and popped it in... honestly, it's such a pain if they force you to have color just to print something in black and white.🙂

I wish there was just an option to bypass the color requirement, but clearly, there isn't.🤷
