Like the title says, I’ve noticed a ton of posts involving a bit of banter—stuff that used to be totally fine and even encouraged as long as you didn't overdo it—are just getting wiped out.

Look, this whole forum is supposed to be a laid-back community. To me, this shift toward some sterile, clinical way of posting where everything has to stay strictly on-topic without a single joke or a little off-topic detour... it just kills the vibe and drags down the quality of the discussions.

So, what's the deal with this sudden pivot in how things are being moderated?

Where exactly have I been calling out the moderators? Please. I haven't called them out, nor have I reported anyone's post to the admins. You see my activity, so you should know better than that. This whole thread isn't even about attacking the staff; I'm genuinely trying to figure out what changed with the rules on the forums. I spend enough time there to understand how things usually work—what flies and what doesn't. A little off-topic chatter was never an issue before, but if they've tightened the leash, fine. Just put out a notice saying the tolerance for deviating from the original post is now zero.

And it's not just that they're nuking a few posts where people are drifting off-topic regarding, say, some massive breakthrough in tech that could change the world. They're also scrubbing posts that use slightly rougher language—stuff that used to be perfectly acceptable here.

Fine, you want an example? Besides the random chat, look at my deleted comment on that thread where some user was asking about smartphones and giveaways. I wrote that I'd rather shove one up her ass. 😁
I know that kind of thing wouldn't have been touched before, much like any light banter that your highness decides isn't "funny" enough.

The conversation drifted into entirely different territory, touching on gold-diggers and other completely unrelated nonsense.

You don't need to take it personally when an officer removes an off-topic post, nor should you start a whole new thread about it. These guidelines have been in place since the beginning.

Feel free to be as witty and unrestrained as you like, provided you stay within the scope of the topic.

There was really no need to launch a thread questioning whether the rules had changed just because you felt slighted when someone deleted one of your threads that you personally considered to be "unfiltered" or funny.

A private message would have sufficed.

Regarding the moderator's workload, I was actually referring to your habit of starting threads on this forum specifically to interrogate the staff's motives or their moderation techniques.

But that’s beside the point.

The bottom line is that no new rules have been implemented; everything remains exactly as it always has been.

Is that really such a massive crime? There’s a balance between order and chaos, and a decent moderator knows how to tell the difference. Besides, this forum isn't the New York Times—you shouldn't need an iron fist to run it.

And it isn't being run with an iron fist. It’s not sterile, nor is it overly strict, but I don't think we should just let toxicity spread unchecked.

The rules haven't changed, and there hasn't been any sudden shift in how things are moderated.
