It looks like they're hitting theaters all over the US right now, and honestly, those cute little blue guys we all grew up with totally deserve their own space on here.
After how huge the first Smurfs movie was back in 2011, we finally got the sequel this year.
THE PLOT:
The wicked wizard Gargamel creates two nasty little creatures that look just like Smurfs, calling them "Naughties" to help pull off his latest evil scheme. But once he realizes he needs a real Smurf to make his plan work—specifically Smurfette, since she's the only one who knows the magic spell to turn the Naughties into actual Smurfs—Gargamel kidnaps her and drags her to Paris. He's already convinced millions of people there that he's the world's greatest wizard...
So, while Gargamel is running wild in Paris with his two evil quasi-Smurfs and Smurfette, Papa Smurf, Trapav, Grouchy Smurf, and Licko have to head back to our world. They'll have to team up with their friends Patrick and Grace Winslow and give it everything they've got to save Smurfette!
The crew from the first movie is back too, with Neil Patrick Harris and Jayma Mays reprising their roles as Patrick and Grace, Katy Perry doing the voice for Smurfette, and Christina Ricci playing one of the Gargamel-Wexys.

I caught it in the theater the other day, and the American dubbing was actually really solid. It's just a super fun animated flick to unwind with... perfect for taking kids, nieces, or nephews along, or even if you just want to feel like a kid again for a bit. 🎉
