I guess you just don't quite grasp how a relatively straightforward analogy works.

And honestly—it seems you're also struggling with the actual definition of "hate speech." Even if we assume he was mocking the Virgin Mary—who, exactly, is being targeted by "hate speech" there? Mockery isn't always hate speech. "Hate speech" and simply expressing "hatred" aren't the same thing, you know.

But what if you’re just operating on faith too? You aren't actually an expert; you're just choosing to believe. That makes you a believer, not an authority.
Even people who follow God are essentially just placing their faith in His omniscience—so, whose "knowledge" are you actually putting your trust in?

Every single time I run into posts from Judelin, they’re almost always just personal attacks on people in the thread rather than actually engaging with what’s being said. Honestly, Judelin is nothing more than a troll and a spammer. He actually seems to think he's doing everyone a favor by suppressing other people's freedom of speech.

Even those who believe in God rely on His knowledge—but whose version of that knowledge are you actually following?

I don't need to believe in anything. Science pulled us out of the caves while religion works overtime trying to drag us back in. Isn't enough for the smart ones?

Science didn't even exist when we were crawling out of those caves; if we'd waited for "science," we'd still be living in them. The very first scientists were actually priests, monks, and the like.

Look, we can say whatever we want about her—assuming she even existed in the first place—and if she’s really all-powerful, she can just fend for herself.

I honestly wish the site admins would just be a bit more detailed when explaining things—it seems like there’s a lot of confusion among everyone else, too.

Over on the other thread in the Banned Corner, someone mentioned that they think homosexuality is a disease. They were talking about the concept or the behavior itself, not actually attacking or belittling any specific individual or group of people.

Then there's this whole other thing—apparently, you get flagged or banned for criticizing politicians or public figures in the subforum dedicated to that, if I’m reading the discussions here on Zalbama correctly. But does mocking or insulting someone's religious beliefs in that same subforum *not* count as insulting believers? Or does it?

I’d really appreciate it if the mods could clear this up, because honestly, it’s all getting a little confusing. Thanks.

That’s not really the point—what matters is figuring out the rules on this forum, which honestly seem pretty confusing and kind of contradictory sometimes. That’s why he started a thread in the "Complaints" section, right? Maybe we should just wait for the admins to weigh in with some answers.

Science split from religion a long time ago. That's actually why we've made it this far. It's based on observing how the real world works instead of blindly following some divine whim—and by "God," I just mean the linguistic construct people use to force faith back into the conversation.

The core of religion is blind belief, whereas the core of science is knowing that new data or observations can change your entire perspective.

One stays stuck in its own mythology while the other adapts to reality. Isn't that the whole point?

I actually got slapped with a week-long ban for "hate speech" just because someone attacked me on here and I responded with "Play the game, not the player." I can't believe I got banned for that. 🙂
