It took about 10 days, but I think it finally started working right—just like five minutes ago...
I have a feeling the issue was actually hitting both the app and the API that Reddit needs to install at the same time.

Every single time I try, it says the API has expired... anyone know how to actually log into this forum using Reddit?

I'm getting that "API has expired" error message too, which is a bit of a bummer...

Hopefully someone can get this sorted out soon!!

This is my first post—after installing Reddit, I also got a message saying the API had expired. I haven't run into any issues browsing the forums since then, so if this actually posts, it means everything is working fine.

northernpilot2 said:Try digging through the Reddit app settings—there should be an option to toggle notifications for new versions. I disabled mine ages ago; I prefer to handle updates manually when I actually feel like it.

On Android 4.1, I turned off the auto update for Reddit: PlayStore - MyApps - select Reddit - Reddit - Settings - uncheck Auto update. I know the original question was about iOS, but this might help others since the issue pops up on Android too. Look, if your Reddit is working—don't fix what isn't broken. If it starts acting up or stops working entirely (or if you remember that updates patch security holes), just run an update or a manual reinstall.

On iOS, it keeps throwing this warning saying the old plugin is still active on the forum itself, not some issue with the local client, so there’s really nothing you can even do in the settings—not that you'd have the option anyway.

Anyway, regardless of that annoying message, everything seems to be working fine with the forum.
