Petition for Black Velvet

I noticed that one of my favorite ladies on here is asking for an unban. I wasn't really following the thread, but she probably got banned at someone's specific request. Given these new rules where permissions aren't being handed out or revoked like they used to be, I honestly think Black Velvet should be considered an exception. To me, this new policy feels pretty mindless 🙂

And honestly, I don't get the logic behind this rule—why wouldn't you want to ban people who aren't even being problematic and are literally asking to be banned themselves? What's the point?
Is it because this forum is supposed to be some massive, high-stakes institution or something? 🙄

E: Also, what about everyone who requested a ban before the rules were changed? Yeah, yeah, I know, "it's their own fault." But seriously, this kind of "tough love" approach to enforcement is just brilliant.

The admins have gone back on their word more times than I can count—this is just another instance of them doing exactly that. Pretty sure it won't be the last time either...

I'm with you on this. If that's the same girl who used to go by Black Velvet with some numbers after her name, then yeah, I think so.
We definitely clashed a bit when I first started hanging out on these forums, but honestly? She's actually alright...👍

Personally speaking, she’s one of the more high-quality contributors here—one of the real deal—and it’s a genuine shame to see her facing a ban. If I had to guess, I suspect she actually asked for the ban herself—she isn't exactly the type to go around collecting trouble 😁—and I felt terrible seeing her account turn gray.
If there is any silver lining to be found, it's that her status changed just before the new rules kicked in. 🙂🙂🙂

I still remember her—she was a top-tier debater who always kept things rational. Why on earth did she even ask to be banned (if that’s even what happened)? Fine, whatever, she’s banned, but now they’re just refusing to lift it or something?

I’m thinking maybe she just fell in love. You know how it goes—she decides to go all-in on the relationship and vanishes from the forum threads to focus on her partner. It happens, right? 😁

But now she’s looking to make a comeback, and I see two ways this plays out:
Either the relationship went south, and she wants to start a new thread to vent and get some emotional support from her buddies here on the board 😳

Or, she’s actually happy and just wants to share the good news with the group. 😍

Black Velvet requested her own ban, so the fact that the rules have changed shouldn't impact her being unbanned.

Come on, admin team, I don't see why we're still waiting.

I mean, look, people are always finding ways to bypass or strip away certain permissions anyway. I don't see why we shouldn't just meet her halfway on this one.
