Malware on the forum?

jadetrucker43, just a heads-up—some people were complaining they couldn't even get onto the forum because of the ads, saying there was malware in advertising

I actually had the same issue myself, but I wasn't seeing any ads, mostly because when you're banned, the ads don't even show up

The admins finally realized where the leak was coming from and patched it up. The forum should be running clean now—well, it’s actually been looking pretty spotless for a little while already.

I can access the forum just fine through my iPhone, but whenever I try to get online using my desktop computer, I run into the issue shown above.

It’s the exact same situation we ran into back when we were dealing with McAfee—we probably need to get in touch with Norton and see if they can just whitelist us...

Saying "there's malware in advertising" and "you can't use the forum because of the ads" are two completely different things.🙂.

The reason people couldn't access the forum was because it had been blacklisted—likely due to some virus that was probably tucked away in one of those ads—and that fact doesn't really have anything to do with whether or not someone actually sees an ad popping up on their screen.

The forum got blacklisted because of some malware in advertising that was floating around—that's why it went down. It’s not about whether you personally see an ad pop up on your screen or not. That's just how it works.

I get hit with that pretty often too, though it doesn't happen with every single PDF.

I'm running McAfee, and every single time I try to pull up a website, it starts flagging some random Trojan horse.

I am getting notifications for every single one, literally every single thread I start.

And just when I think it’s over, once I close this window and try to move on to another topic, it pops up again to tell me it blocked a Trojan horse.

It’s two good days followed by another setback. A total malware nightmare again. I guess someone isn't actually checking these ads before they hit the site?
