Under these circumstances, anyone could claim they are "overtaking" or "bumping" their way past others... if a driver charges into a corner like a madman before the chicane without any genuine prospect of passing, these officials have nothing left to do but force them to cut the chicane and then mandate that they yield to a driver who never truly had a fair shot at overtaking in the first place, nor was he even ahead of Fernando Alonso prior to that attempted maneuver... 🤦
